1949 Mercury Lead Sled

Check out this gorgeous 1949 Mercury.  Sam Barris built the first 1949 Mercury Lead Sled in 1949 and since that car was built these beautiful custom Mercury’s have pushed ahead of any typical hot rod design.  This Merc has been built to model the original “Barris” design.  Professionally chopped roof, shaved handles and locks inside and out, channeled body, while keeping the original dash and interior.  Under the hood is a recently built 350 ci V8 connected to a 3 speed automatic transmission.  The trim and chrome are in perfect condition with the exhaust existing the rear bumper.  The deep black paint is near flawless and laid on a very straight body.  The white wall BF Goodrich tires enhance the chrome wheels.  Power steering, power brakes and air conditioning. This full build has been meticulously maintained with long term ownership in a private collection.  The odometer reads 11,752 miles.  This has to be one of our favourite cars and it draws attention from everyone.  A properly built 49 Merc is hard to come by in Canada.  Better come and take a look.
