This 1940 Cadillac Series 60 Special is a stunning, highly original survivor that perfectly captures pre-war opulence. This model is famous for its sleek flowing lines, integrated headlights and that unmistakable, massive chrome grill. Whether you’re looking for a reliable local cruiser, a prominent addition to a collection or a unique vehicle for weddings and events, this Cadillac delivers pure nostalgia and a commanding road presence. The original 346 Monobloc V8 starts right up, idles quietly and pulls strong. Under hood details are original and correct.  The ‘3 on the tree’ shifts smoothly.  The original 6 volt electrical system is powered by a new red top Optima battery. The frame and underside shows well and suspension components have been refreshed as required.  The original steel rims are painted in a contracting red and are set off by the very rare and original chrome Cadillac hubcaps.  The older paint respray holds a deep, rich shine, although not flawless, it presents beautifully for its age, and is complimented by hand pin stripes.  Much of the chrome has been restored, while some smaller trim pieces are still original and in very good condition, holding a patina-d shine that is in keeping with the vintage of the vehicle. The dashboard features many art deco design cues including the original clock, radio, gauges and trim.  The original wool upholstery and wood have been meticulously preserved.  Seatbelts have been installed. Lovingly kept in a collector’s climate- controlled garage, this Cadillac comes with maintenance records and service manuals.
